Need Awareness and Information Search

1.) Out of the various possible segments for my market venture, I segment of the housewife/mom.

2.) Interviews: soundcloud.co/

The need was most salient for housewives who actually had pets, and even more so if they had actually lost a pet.  Even if they hadn't though, it was easy for them to empathize with those that had and recognized the need.
Their first step to finding a solution was either googling, calling their friends/neighbors, and calling their moms.

Conclusions:  This segment might be the most appropriate for my product, because they are technologically savvy, recognize the need, and generally have authority over purchasing decisions for their homes.

  1. This would certainly be a good service to offer to the shelters, who can then share information about all found dogs, as we can not be certain that everyone who loses a dog can be tech savvy enough to post their own information, however it is not necessary to be as technically savvy to find the information that has already been posted.

  2. Hi Pablo,
As a pet owner, I believe your service is very useful. When I conducted these interviews to determine how people obtain information, all three interviewees told me they used google as their first source of information. I believe for both of our concepts, this means that excellent customer reviews must be visible online on the first search page for our products. You mentioned also that your interviewees relied on word of mouth, which is similar to one of my respondent's interviews. I like that you mentioned a possible issue with certain pet owners not being tech savvy, yet I know if my mother can use Pet Finder and the Humane Society's website to find our pets when they get lost, I think there's hope for your customer base.

  3. Pablo, if my dog ever got lost, I would hire whoever it took to find him! There are plenty of other pet lovers who love their pets as much as I do so I think you have a pretty large market. Also, pets are getting lost every day, there are always new "lost dog" postings on Facebook or on the street. Your service would be very beneficial for those people. Like you said in your Napkin Idea, you would have to make sure a lot of people knew about your service and registered their dogs information properly so you can maximize the effectiveness of the searches!
